‘Love Well’ is a public installation for public spaces, aiming to provide a fun and not so serious interactive device for visitors to have a play with.Starting with a Chinese term ‘MoQi’ (unspoken understanding among people, particularly referring to friends and couples), we initially wanted to design a MoQi tester. However, after rounds of iteration, we decided to make the physical device less outcome-oriented, but experience-focused by trying to make a fun experience in interacting with the device, as our ultimate goal is to design an installation for touristic vistors to have a quick play, or simply for them to tick off the location from their sighseeing list. We want to make a Fast Art Generator just like Fast Food and Fast Fashion.Working towards the goal, and through rounds of iteration and testing, we shortened the tasks that the users would need to complete to get the final generated artwork that is based on how they play with the physical device-- ‘Love Well’. That is, the user could just upload a photo of memory, write some words for the photo, and choose the avator bubble that best represents them, then hit ‘yes’ to wake up the magical ‘Love Well’ to get a piece of artwork that is generated based on the information provided, and how they play with the device. The physical device has its own secrets: the time difference actually adjusts the lightening effects. The smaller the time difference is, the cuter effects they could get. However, this mechanism is not introduced users-- because this is the fun part!
